Ignoring the innocuous allows history to repeat itself

I am soon 86 years old and remembering the end of World War II. My family drove from our farm to Elgin to watch the celebration of cars, driving the streets and honking horns. My Grandmother was crying, remembering the loss of life.
Soon I heard people saying, "It will never happen here." To stop evil we need to be alert to the "innocent" beginnings."
Journalist, Bill Moyers once hosted a program on the beginnings of evil. Telling us to be alert.
Banning books might seem innocent. Not adequately funding our public schools and protecting students who might be different might be ignored. Read world history beginning with 1939. When evil begins and seems innocent, it can be stopped if it is recognized.
