If Democrats cave, they’ll lose

Both parties are blaming the other for the shutdown and neither side is willing to budge for fear of being called "a loser" and it is "we the people" who are losing. As I understand it, the Democrats want health care issues addressed now. The Republicans have agreed to address health care issues once the government reopens. If that is the case, what have they got to lose? Address the issue now, over and done with. If the Democrats cave, they have everything to lose, as there is no guarantee the issue will be addressed. Even with assurances, Trump holds the cards and has reneged on his promises, far too often to be trusted.
