I wholeheartedly support Nancy Humbles for re-election to the CRCSD School Board from District 2! We need her strength and her experience to help the district serve diverse students and prepare them for a successful future.
Nancy has devoted her whole life to helping young people and organizations achieve their potential. She has demonstrated time and again her unrelenting commitment to helping young people succeed. She has also proven herself to be a champion for our community. She has served in multiple roles in education and on nonprofit boards and committees as varied as the Area Substance Abuse Council, the African American Museum of Iowa, the LGBTQ Advisory Board for Tanager Place and the United Way. She listens, she works to engage people on all sides of an issue and she does not shrink from challenging situations.
As evidence of this consider how she worked to bring together the school district and the community to close the achievement gap for African American students as a member of the “Not Without Me” committee. I have known and worked with Nancy and know that she will show up for the kids and be a powerful voice on the CRCSD school board.
