How to donate your stimulus to someone in poverty

Several writers have encouraged people to donate unneeded COVID-19 stimulus relief checks to worthy local nonprofits. I'd like to offer an additional option.
GiveDirectly is raising pandemic relief funds for some of the poorest Americans (those who get Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits), many of whom lost income in the past year.
As its name implies, the organization gives money directly to recipients to help with rent, food, utilities, etc. This approach is in keeping with the original intent of the stimulus checks. Extensive research has also shown this is one of the most cost-effective ways to help people in poverty.
You can learn much more at givedirectly.org.
