How is group’s plan to protect city coming?

During the April 21 local-option sales tax forum at Harrison School, the leaders of We Can Do Better - the guy who said “we won't have another flood,” then 10 minutes later said “we need to protect the neighborhoods,” the Tea Party guy, and the guy who thought they were going to build a 31-foot dike next to his house - said they would come up with a better flood protection plan than the City Council proposed.
Could someone tell me how that is coming? With the Mississippi River flooding this spring and the Missouri River projected to flood almost this entire summer, I feel like the window to state and federal funds is fast slamming shut.
The extension proposed by the council would have cost us nothing extra. It would have just been a continuation of our existing local-option sales tax. I hope the “vote no” folks break out their improved plan before time and money runs out.
