How does fiscal fix sacrifice freedom?
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 15, 2012 11:15 am
In response to Bob Grove's Dec. 11 letter “Sacrifice needed to save our liberty”:
Please explain how fixing the “fiscal cliff” takes away freedom? I thought voters wanted everyone to pay their fair share. What do quotes from Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy have to do with the nation's debt, unless you think only the rich “cut wood” or “ask not”?
Who are the socialists you refer to and why will socialists be called patriots? Are we really throwing away liberty when we balance the nation's budget? Can't we extend unemployment benefits and not cut food stamps?
