How can you make a difference for others?

On Nov. 6, I ran in the Race for Wellness held at Thomas Park in Marion. The purpose was to raise money to finance building wells in East India.
I chose to run in it because recently I wrote a paper about poverty in India. Through research, I learned about the extreme need for clean water among India's poor. This race alone raised enough to build 10 new wells.
The Race for Wellness was organized by Rachel Langholz, a sophomore at Kennedy High School. This fundraising idea, executed by a high school student, will make a large difference in the lives of more than 3,000 people.
I challenge the people of Cedar Rapids to get involved in helping people in need through simple things such as Langholz's race.
What can you do to make a difference for another person?
