How can we help reduce the deaths of children by firearms?

Education on gun safety should be one of our top priorities in the United States. Having said that, students being taught, specifically at younger ages, about firearm safety will help them to react when in a situation involving a firearm and the basics of firearm safety. With hands on experience, students will learn to respect a firearm and have better understanding without having fear of not knowing what to do with one.

Classes on gun safety are being put into health curricula in some schools like sex, education and drugs. Courses for basic safety and handling should be mandatory for the younger ages, then they can later be a choice once students are in high school to have a more advanced level class or more hands on experience, going to the shooting range, learning gun laws and refreshing the student's memory from the previous course they would've taken during their younger ages.

Making it mandatory for students at young ages to be taught the basics of firearm safety and hands on learning will have a positive effect for America in teaching the students to have respect toward firearms while also knowing what to do when put into a situation involving one.
