House parliamentarian applauded for his service

To the editor:
I was delighted to read the article about Tom Wickham, the chief parliamentarian of the House of Representatives ('Iowan helps guide House procedures,” July 8).
Parliamentarians are rarely in the news because so much of their work is behind the scenes, yet they truly are stewards and protectors of civility, fairness and order.
I congratulate Wickham for his years of service to our elected officials and I'm proud of his connection to Iowa.
