Horse owners need to have options
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 22, 2013 12:17 pm
As horse owners who love our horses, we see a need for options for people who cannot afford to feed their horses. To cull a herd is not a sin. If there are too many horses desirable for horse lovers to buy at an auction, then the slaughter plants buy them. Just because a few people do not want to kill any animal is not a reason to eliminate horse slaughter, especially if horses are for sale. If there is a demand in other countries for our products, why not sell to them?
We hope slaughter houses for cattle, hogs, sheep, poultry and horses are allowed to continue.
