Hope Blooms with daffodils galore
Beth Hammell
Mar. 26, 2018 1:00 am
Across the Cedar Rapids Corridor, 43,000 daffodils were delivered from Newport's Flower Shop, our hosting venue, to individuals and cancer patients via the Hope Blooms/Gems of Hope volunteers.
Many thank-you sentiments to our Hope Blooms presenting sponsor, Helen G. Nassif Community Cancer Center, to the many supporting sponsors, both financial and in-kind and last, but not least, to the scores of volunteers. Without you, there would be no daffodils!
As you may know, Gems of Hope will celebrate its 13th anniversary this July and we are humbled at the continued generosity our community has shown in embracing our mission of ‘bringing hope to cancer patients and their families.'
Hope does bloom in many ways. When you see a yellow daffodil, know that this flower is our first sign of spring and a ray of sunshine for our area cancer patients.
Again, a sincere thank you to you all!
