Regarding the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight on Oct. 21:
From the first correspondence to the last communication, the flight could not have been better planned.
To all the volunteers who gave of their time, patience and energy, I applaud them.
To Quaker Oats, Pepsi and Caseys stores, we owe a debt of gratitude.
To the band, fireman, KCs, and all organizations and individuals who made an effort to greet us when we returned, we will never forget.
My two brothers, Daryl and Cyril, and I were drafted from Brooklyn, Iowa. We honored pictures of my brothers at the World War II memorial.
