To the editor:
Wow! The April Eastern Iowa Honor Fight exceeded the expectations of this Korean era veteran. Honored in my twilight years was like being royalty for a day. All branches of military service and some significant presidents are honored with memorials.
Thousands of white grave markers cover hundreds of acres in Arlington Cemetery. An average of 29 per day are buried, of Medal of Honor and Purple Heart recipients. I was inspired knowing I was a member of a huge and awesome band of brothers and sisters. The fruit of our efforts provides freedom to this and all future generations of Americans and other millions all over the world.
Realization that as an American, a member of the smallest minority in the history of all humanity, I was truly blessed. May God abundantly bless this exceptional nation, America the land of the free and the home of the brave. Thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors for providing this wonderful experience. I strongly encourage all veterans to sign up for this unique opportunity at www.eihonorflight.org. Your guardian will take care of all your needs.
