Hinson will not be a bipartisan voice

As I sat in a new car recently, I pressed a button and turned on the radio and out popped the voice of Rush Limbaugh. In the short time that I had the radio on, I heard him tell his audience that ”Democrats want you to pay $10 a gallon for gas.” Now, is there a Democrat somewhere who has said this? Probably. Is that what Democrats want? No. Do most Democrats want us to transition from using gas? That would probably be fair to say since most recognize that oil is a finite resource and is a source of warming of the planet since scientists have observed this. Rush Limbaugh saying otherwise doesn't make it so, but large segments of Iowa's population will believe it.
Now I come to the election of a representative for Iowa U.S. House District 1. I don't believe that I have ever been represented by anyone who worked as hard for the interests of the entire district as Abby Finkenauer, and I am grateful for her work. Instead we elected Ashley Hinson. If you are a Republican, she will no doubt represent you well. She will not represent me. She was not a bipartisan voice in the Iowa House, and she won't be in the U.S. House, and her telling you that she will be is no more true than Rush Limbaugh telling you that Democrats want gas to be $10 a gallon. Let's not pretend otherwise.
