Hinson doesn’t stand by her harmful actions

During the last weekend of the legislative session, Rep. Ashley Hinson was seen 'playing politics” while in Des Moines. Several times throughout debate and votes, Hinson could be seen leaving the chambers and returning only to vote. When called on to yield to questions by her colleagues, Hinson was nowhere to be found. Two of the bills she was called to question on were the 24-hour waiting period for an abortion and the changes to absentee voter requirements.

Could it be that Hinson didn't want to defend her position on the bills and have her words used against her in her congressional campaign? If that's the case. Hinson shouldn't be putting her name on bills she won't defend. Furthermore, she certainly shouldn't be voting in support of these bills.

Iowans deserve a representative who will listen to them and who will explain where they stand on the issues. In her campaign ad Hinson states 'Seeing chaos and dysfunction in Washington has become the new norm. But here's a news flash: I'm running to change that.” Here's the real news flash for Iowa voters, hiding from questions and refusing to defend your votes adds to chaos and dysfunction, it doesn't show the type of leadership Iowans in the 1st District expect or deserve.
