Higher property taxes are not the answer

After reading the Jan. 29 article on taxes and streets, I feel we should award white hats to Ron Corbett and Monica Vernon and black hats to Tom Podzimek, Chuck Wieneke and others on the council who feel property taxes are the answer to all of the city's problems. This tax is clearly no burden for them.
I live on Social Security and cannot afford to keep up maintenance on my house, let along pay more taxes on it.
I agree the streets have potholes. I for one drive slower and try to avoid them because I can't afford auto repairs.
Find some other way to pay for repair.
Thank you, Ron Corbett and others trying to hold the line on taxes. I hope others like me will show appreciation when it comes time to vote.
