Hemp remains an untapped resource

At one time, hemp was an important agricultural and industrial crop. I found one source stating that some high oil-yielding hempseed can yield 100 gallons of oil per acre, twice that of soybeans.
Drug warriors continue to force the ignorance of hemp onto the public. But a little common sense goes a long way and it isn't a hard point to prove. Hop into your car or ride the rural roads on a bicycle. Find some of those patches of hemp growing in the fence rows or down the draws between fields. Hemp is in full bloom right now. Seeds are maturing in the flowers. Go by “your patch” once a week or so.
If this mature hemp had any recreational value, would it remain there? Hemp needs to be an agricultural crop again. What is really interesting is how hemp was made illegal. Great reading for inquiring minds!
