Helping others helps the United States

As you may know, the United States gives foreign aid to other countries less fortunate than ours. My issue with our current system is there is not nearly enough funding to create a meaningful and lasting difference in foreign communities. By increasing our budget a little, it could help the United States gain more markets for our products. By increasing our international affairs budget we can help the world's poor, the United States and humanity.
How could we help this issue? Through congressional help from our leaders that are supposed to represent us and the things that we are passionate about.
You may think that a phone call or email to members of Congress won't do anything but if as few as eight people contact a representative about a bill, the representative usually co-sponsors the bill. Therefore, I urge Sens. Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley to support the International Affairs Budget, and I urge you to contact your representatives.
