Health reform helps poor, just as Jesus did

A March 27 letter by Pastor Joshua Graber criticizes Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, on health care reform. Pastor Graber, the new law does not include funding for abortions, and to make it crystal clear, shortly after passage, President Obama signed an executive order reaffirming this.
Why have our Democratic leaders worked on this issue so hard and at great risk to their careers when they all have great health care coverage? Simply put, because they care about the welfare of their fellow human beings. This bill insures that 30 million of the uninsured have access to health care insurance, that children and adults with pre-existing conditions are not denied or canceled from that insurance and those who cannot afford any of the health insurance options get the care they need.
Is caring for our neighbor not what Jesus Christ espoused as he walked this earth, healing the sick and uplifting the poor and disadvantaged?
