Health program just more government waste

What is the rush to pass the health care reform bill? It will not be implemented until 2013. I'm satisfied with my insurance as one of my employment benefits. My wife's employer does not provide health insurance, so we purchase her policy and pay for it out of our pockets. I'm a public school teacher and my wife is a part-time county employee, so we are not rolling in extra income, but we include her policy premiums in our budget.
I do not believe that a majority of Iowans support the implementation of government-run health insurance. What government-run programs are operated efficiently without waste and bureaucratic red tape? Why would the citizens of this country want to pay for another wasteful program?
Who will decide what procedures will not be covered for myself and my loved ones? Will that person be a Washington bureaucrat or a health care professional? If I'm denied a medical procedure, can I get a second opinion or pay for the procedure without the use of my government-mandated health insurance? How is government-run health insurance going to be funded?
I was promised by candidate Obama that he would not raise taxes on me or my family to fund this program.
