Health insurance not true intent
The Gazette Opinion Staff

A couple of weeks ago, I received a letter and information packet from Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield regarding my individual health insurance policy.
I was informed that my monthly premium will increase substantially effective Jan. 1. The increase is attributed to the addition of two separate Affordable Healthcare Act taxes and enhanced benefits that I did not have before.
One enhancement is fertility treatment. I am three months shy of age 61, my children are grown and I had a vasectomy 16 years ago. Why in heaven's name would I ever purchase fertility treatment coverage?
Anyone who still clings to the belief that this law is about health insurance still is drinking Obama's Kool-Aid. Even to the true believers, it should be obvious this is nothing more than a government power grab and a backdoor redistribution of wealth. When will common sense make a resurgence?
