Health care not the issue in Massachusetts
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 23, 2010 11:58 pm
The loss of Ted Kennedy's former Senate seat to Republican Scott Brown was shocking. Democrats took victory for granted.
Some say the people voted their disapproval for health care reform, but keep in mind that Massachusetts residents already have near-universal and mandated health insurance. Passing national health care reform meant very little to them.
Also keep in mind this near-universal health care in Massachusetts was signed by Republican Mitt Romney and supported by new Republican Senator-elect Brown (who is also pro-choice).
