Health care debate needs solution
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 6, 2010 11:09 pm
Real discussion and debate has been going on in Washington for the last few months to deliver health care to everyone. We currently have
48 million people without health care. People lost their health care because of loss of jobs or insurance companies will not cover you if you have a pre-existing condition, for example, cancer. Do we truly want insurance companies making decisions regarding what medication we can or cannot take regardless of your doctor's advice and prescription? When did the insurance company get a medical license?
If we don't supply some kind of health care, we ultimately will pay down the road, either at the hospital or the emergency room.
If you can go to your doctor and know you have insurance and can pay for it, good for you. Yet, let's not become complacent and forget the needs of our brothers and sisters. May God continue to bless us as a nation that cares about others.
