This is a critical time to vote for good people who will do good things for Iowa and the country. Rita Hart is a really good person, and she would make an outstanding representative for Iowa's 2nd Congressional District.
I first met Rita when she was one of a handful of Iowa legislators willing to devote time and energy to a statewide council that helped develop policies to prevent disabilities. Her background as a teacher, combined with her strength of character and commitment to doing what's right, made her a great contributor to that effort. I was impressed by the practical skills she had learned as a farmer, as well as the public policy expertise she applied in her work as a state senator. Rita has a unique ability to work together with people from any background and any political affiliation. She is a great listener and a practical problem solver, and she uses those skills to build consensus and get things done for Iowans.
During this election season, I've been wearing a hat listing three basic priorities: work. health. truth. Rita checks all the boxes with her commitment to economic development, improving health and health care access, and being an elected representative we can all respect and trust.
