Gun permits should require firing time

I've been selling guns in Cedar Rapids for more than 40 years.
I am disappointed the new “shall issue” concealed weapons permit state law requires no range time. Carpetbaggers from all over are holding “classes” at retail showrooms, garages, group meetings, without handling a gun. Now these people will be licensed to carry guns into public places.
I worry about accidents.
When I hand shoppers a gun, I observe how they handle the gun. If they put their finger in the trigger guard, on the trigger, and don't notice where the muzzle is pointing, or don't open the action to check if the chamber is loaded, I show them how to place their trigger finger above the trigger along the frame, like they are pointing their finger, which gives them the correct hold, regardless of their hand size or gun grip size.
I tell them to be aware of where the muzzle is pointing and how to lock open the action. Then I teach them sight alignment, trigger control and sear reset. I hand the gun back to them. If they are not willing to learn, I will not sell them the gun.
Now these people I would not sell guns to will have permits to carry guns concealed in public! The law must be amended to require familiarization firing, not qualification firing, which is so difficult that only marksmen would have permits.
