In the April 2 guest editorial titled, 'Life is incredibly fragile. Cherish it,” the writer was inspiring with personal reflections of her virus-related experiences. It seems the COVID-19 pandemic is an everyday reminder to value the gift of life. With our gift of time these weeks and months, we have become aware of the many blessings we easily take for granted. We totally agree that experiencing church online is not even close to attending in person and worshipping together as a church community.
We are touched by the creativity and generosity of those who are reaching out to people in need and celebrating special occasions in unique ways while practicing social distancing. We are grateful for the many ways through technology to work from home and keep connected with one another through dancing, music, sharing stories, or just saying 'I care - are you OK?” We can't imagine how it must be for family members who cannot visit their loved ones who are trying to recover from the virus.
As the writer says, it's so important to thank and support every single health care worker and responder in their service on the front lines, always wondering if they will bring it home to their families.
As we have heard numerous times, we are in this together so we also will get through this together. The virus cannot take away our faith and acts of kindness. May we live each day to the fullest the best way we can!
