Volunteers with Eye 380, a nonprofit citizen group seeking to improve the Interstate 380 landscape in the metro area, want to thank all those who provided financial and other support and invite others to join our efforts.
We believe I-380 is our Main Street, and its appearance reflects on the entire region. We maintain four sites, have begun work on another near Cedar Lake, and have drawn plans for an exciting 'rolling landscape” along the west bank of I-380 north of 32nd Street NE. It will feature a collage of native grasses and pollinators that will change colors with the seasons.
We have no paid staff. All maintenance work must be done by bonded, licensed landscaping companies, according to Iowa Department of Transportation regulations. Nearly all donations go for site maintenance. Trees Forever provides us a meeting place, ancillary services and acts as our fiscal agent.
Donations, big and small, provide ownership and pride in these roadside upgrades. We also invite new members to our group. Those interested should visit our eye380.org website.
