Groceries paid by generous customer

To the editor:
On Jan. 7, I was at Lindale Hy-Vee waiting in line to pay for my groceries.
A young lady, less than half my age, pulled my items over to the register and told the clerk she was paying for my items also. I asked her why she would do that, she said, 'because I am a nice person.” I told her I could see that, but I did not expect her to pay for my food. She smiled and paid the bill. I thanked her and left. I would like to have asked her first name, but was sure she would not have told me.
If the young lady reads this, I want her to know how much I appreciate her generosity. May God bless her for her kindness.
