To the editor:
On Nov. 12, the Cedar Rapids City Council's Infrastructure Committee made a recommendation.
The city should consider the curbside recycling program be reduced from weekly to bi-weekly pickups.
This will result in more recyclable materials being thrown away in the trash. Many people are concerned about plastic grocery bags which take up very little space. Now bulky items that could've been recycled will go into the landfill too. Staff and equipment costs will be cut. More garbage stickers will be sold.
