Grassley not using position to help Iowans
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Sep. 16, 2009 12:10 am
I rarely have agreed with Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, but have always respected him. Not only has Grassley been scandal-less, but it seemed to me that he made his decisions in consideration of what he thought was best of us Iowans. I don't believe that any more.
Grassley is in a powerful position to help bring about health care reform, but instead he is fear mongering and spreading misinformation like so many others who oppose health care reform. Meanwhile, I recently got notice that my health insurance premium is being increased by
30 percent this year. I will now pay $675 per month for single coverage with a high deductible. I have a pre-existing condition and can't get insurance elsewhere.
I wish Grassley would represent Iowans instead of his political party and the lobbyists who support his campaigns.
