Grassley meets test of Founding Fathers
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 16, 2010 12:35 am
U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley represents Iowans and is a true American in ways such as:
l Defends traditional marriage as being one man and one woman and children, comprising the family, which has been the foundation of societies for thousands of years.
l Reputation for fiscal responsibility and government accountability.
l Shines light on federal bureaucracy and demands accountability for the taxpayers' money.
l Keeps in touch with Iowans with annual meetings in all counties.
l Steward of the land by living, working, raising a family on the Iowa family farm.
l Knows that jobs are created in the private sector by reducing taxes, eliminating needless and foolish bureaucratic governmental regulations strangling business, freeing the creative spirit of entrepreneurs,
l Fosters trust and cooperation between industry and government for creating real jobs in the private sector.
Grassley has matured with experience as an Iowa farmer, assembly line worker, state legislator, U.S. representative and U.S. senator. He has invaluable experience serving on congressional committees: Finance, Judiciary, Budget, Agriculture, Joint Tax, and Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control.
Our Founding Fathers stated that public officials should be chosen with these criteria: experience, training, proven virtue and demonstrated wisdom. Grassley meets their test.
