Grassley helps the rich, hurts everyone else
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Our self-proclaimed tightwad, Sen. Chuck Grassley, has just led his party in stopping an extension of jobless benefits for those out of work for extended periods.
This exposes what he and his party truly are - bent on destroying the poor and working class while helping his rich buddies to the U.S. treasury.
Grassley has always been there to vote for tax cuts for the very rich and tax breaks, subsidies and bailouts for the multi-national corporations. He has also always been there to break unions. Policies he and his cohorts espouse smooth the way to send American and Iowa jobs overseas.
And now after his party has ruined the economy, he punishes the victims by stopping what little income they have.
Maybe he and his family could give up some of those farm subsidies they seem to have no problem taking from the government? Time to retire him.
