Grassley, Cheney are of different conscience

Sen. Chuck Grassley, like every other traditional Republican, woke up Wednesday morning secretly wishing he was Liz Cheney. "Chuck," who is a better politician than you or I, has known since election night 2022 that Joe Biden was our duly elected president. There were no lost ballots, no corrupted voting machines, no steal to stop. He also knows Trump had been a buffoon on the international stage whose cultivation of dictators threatened our leadership of the western world while endangering our security. He also knew we came within a hair's breadth of losing our democratic form of government because of Trump's failed coup.
Sadly, despite all of Grassley's understanding of the political scene, he could not bring himself to risk his short, remaining political career. How different it must be when he and Cheney are alone with their consciences. She knows she has stood for her principles no matter what the personal costs while Chuck Grassley has squandered his reputation for the transitory values of vanity, greed and power.
