Gov. Terry Branstad is out of touch

To the editor:
That Gov. Terry Branstad would tour the African American Museum of Iowa on the same day he vetoed $55.7 million for K-12 education is pathetic, insensitive, ill-timed, and out of touch.
Rather than give the go-ahead to the compromise plan worked out by the Iowa Legislature, he chose once again to go on his own, disregarding the value of educating young Iowans. Branstad no longer represents the needs and wishes of Iowans.
To paraphrase Hubert Humphrey, 'He is not in the mainstream. In fact, he has not even touched the shore.”
