Gov. Reynolds wrong to dismiss Hudson

Gov. Kim Reynolds once again has decided to squelch any resistance to the privatization of Medicaid by refusing to keep David Hudson on Iowa's Medical Assistance Advisory Councill. This is a good man who spoke out and asked the tough questions, which apparently was the reason he was 'dropped.”
David and his wife, Mary Jo, care for their severely disabled son, Matthew, in their home. They are a true example of selflessness and should be applauded for their dedication.
He knows firsthand the battles all Iowa parents with disabled children face. The incessant paperwork, the fight to keep necessary services, the endless phone calls to ensure that services are in place.
Gov. Reynolds made a huge mistake by dismissing Hudson. Not only did she weaken the board, but she decided to silence a man who spoke out for the vulnerable who often have no voice.
