Thank you to the Mount Vernon-Lisbon League of Women Voters for their forum on Thursday evening Sept. 19. at Mount Vernon High School. I found the forum for State Rep. Cindy Golding and her opponent Kent McNally very interesting and well worth my time.
Several questions asked were concerns about stormwater runoff contamination in cities from fertilizer and chemical application from lawns. The other issue was the carbon pipeline being proposed to Linn County and the State of Iowa. The CO2 pipeline presents enormous danger to families, disruption of farm ground and most importantly, the use of eminent domain against property owners. Eminent domain affects not just where the pipeline is proposed, but allows further private corporations attempting to secure your land for private gain and profit.
I feel very strongly that State Rep. Golding has the best interests of all of us in the state of Iowa. Rep. Cindy Golding is protecting our rights and concerns on more than just these two issues. I will be casting my vote for Rep. Cindy Golding District 83 November 5.
