Golding not sensitive to jobless Iowans

Iowans across the state and in Senate District 18 want to work. The national jobs crisis is leaving too many Iowans with too few options to support their families and the closings of workforce development sites across the state has made the situation worse. Just this week, five more worksites were closed, all in rural areas of our state.
I attended the Senate District 18 League of Women Voters forum and was outraged by the cavalier attitude displayed by Cindy Golding toward unemployed Iowa workers. She doesn't seem to understand the tremendous hardship of these office closings, leaving jobless Iowans to drive up to an hour in some cases just to speak to someone in person about how to just find a way to provide for their families.
These closings disproportionately hit rural Iowa families and the jobless workers that need assistance the most. On campaign literature, Golding promotes herself as an advocate for rural communities, but leaving rural Iowans without access to critical assistance in a jobs crisis proves otherwise.
Leaving jobless Iowans in the cold isn't going to get our economy back on track and it shows a deep disconnect between Golding and the voters she wants to represent in the 18th District.
