Regarding the April 3 article on Jason Glass, new Iowa education chief. School changes needed? Yes, but not all. To Glass' credit, the article indicated he is listening to Iowans forideas.
However, the listing of his experience was disturbing with apparently no teaching in a public school. It has always amazed me that people with little or no work in the “trenches” may be given the responsibility for “change” in a system affecting people doing the nitty-gritty work in the trenches - in this case. the teachers and those administrators with prior teaching experience.
Good luck, Mr. Glass.
