Give gays union rights, without word ‘marriage’

I get concerned when I hear all the comments about same-sex marriage. Most dictionaries describe marriage as something like “a man and a woman living as husband and wife.” Marriage is a sacrament in most all of the Christian religions. A marriage is a contract between a man, a woman and God. It offers a blessing that will last a lifetime if they are willing to respect it.
I have no criticism of the gays or the lesbians. Why not call it a “civil union with all legal privileges?”
Give them their just due, but just do not call it a marriage. Remember, we all came into this world as the product of a man and a woman. I like that arrangement.
