Gazette’s knee-jerk editorial misses the mark

With all the emotional control of a teenager with raging hormones, a recent Gazette editorial demanded 'Trump must go now” (Jan. 7).
The only thing missing was an exclamation mark. This editorial was like a typical democrat knee-jerk response by the media to many events, a rush to judgment with no conssideration of the facts beforehand.
Former President Donald Trump said nothing in his speech that day that even hinted at inciting a riot. In fact, he told the crowd to ‘”peaceably and patriotically” let their voices be heard at the Capitol. He said nothing more than that.
You maintained President Donald Trump did 'too little too late” after he told the crowd to go home. Come to find out, it was the D.C. and Capitol Hill police who did too little too late after FBI warnings the day before of the possibility of civil unrest at the event.
Did the editors demand mayors and governors 'Must Go Now” who rejected President Donald Trump's offers to send in the National Guard during BLM and Antifa rioting? No. The riots continued with violence, looting and destruction for days, weeks and months. The rioters set fire to police precincts, a federal court house and police cars, and police officers were killed or injured. Democrat leaders said nary a word against them. After all, the rioters were on their side.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even without facts, but I have higher expectations of The Gazette editorial staff, putting aside emotions and partisanship.
