Gazette, Lenz deserve a Pulitzer

A lot of my friends want to know why I still pay for newspaper subscriptions. The Gazette from August 11 through August 23 is going to be my answer. Your entire team has done an incredible job covering the effects and response to the derecho. Because this was a team effort, I hate to single anyone out, but because I am a former newspaper columnist I have to say that Lyz Lenz's August 23 piece ' Kicked to the Curb,Why was help so late after the storm?” absolutely nailed it.

I intend to contact the Pulitzer Prize in Journalism Committee and nominate the Cedar Rapids Gazette, and Lyz Lenz specifically, for your derecho coverage.
