Gas companies get free advertising via ‘news’

Isn't it amazing the free advertising the media gives to gas companies? Almost every television newscast you see seems designed to help raise the price of gas. Even the gas company executives get free interviews to explain why the price of gas will soon be $5 per gallon.
The gas companies have to make more profit for the stockholders and themselves. We, the American people, have already proven how gullible we are. So let's have a benefit and donations, auctions, bake sales, etc., with the proceeds going to the gas companies. Just call our local media, especially the television companies. They can do a bang-up job on a really worthwhile news story - $5 gas is a worthwhile story, isn't it?
