Freedom of speech makes country great

To the editor:
I am a former combat Marine and a disabled Vietnam veteran. I both prosecuted and then protested the Vietnam War. I would like to borrow a phrase, 'love it or leave it,” thrown at those of us who protested the Vietnam War in the 60s and 70s by the so-called 'greatest generation” and tell the 'angry lawmaker,” Bobby Kaufmann, that if he doesn't like the freedoms that many of us fought and died for, he should leave the country.
Freedom of speech, even in relation to the flag, may be uncomfortable at times, but it is one of the constitutionally guaranteed freedoms that has made this country great. And, what has made so many people around the world want to come to the United States.
Love it, or leave it, Bobby Kaufmann. And, quit making a mockery of what we have fought for.
