Freedom & justice are interdependent
Robert Anthony

At one economic extreme there might be total justice or fairness, such as an equal distribution of income, everyone earns the same income. This would require enforcement by a totalitarian government. But economic freedom would not exist.
At the other extreme there might be total income inequality. All income would go to a few. This would give the few total economic freedom to plunder the vast majority. Thus for the many no justice or fairness.
Clearly a civilized society cannot function with such a structure of extremes since freedom and justice are interdependent, one cannot exist without the other. Thus, a reasonable balance between freedom and justice is required. This is accomplished through our democratic process, politicians passing laws to balance freedom and justice.
