Franken is the ideal candidate

I am a 95-year-old retired minister. I have been a part of the aging network in Iowa for over six decades. Yesterday, it was my honor to have Mike visit me and my wife. I told Mike that I planned to vote for him for three reasons: 1. His platform convinces me that he shares my values and those of most Iowans. 2. I am convinced that he can defeat Sen. Chuck Grassley. And 3. I think he has the experience and skill set to deliver for me and all Iowans as a member of the U.S. Senate. After my visit, I now have a fourth reason. I could feel Mike’s warmth and passion and his belief that at this stage in his life he can best serve his country by defeating Grassley and becoming the next U.S. Senator from Iowa.
Sen. Grassley has sold his soul to the Republican Party. The Supreme Court is Grassley’s Court. I believe Mike Franken can beat Grassley. Mike will fight for democracy at home and abroad, he will vote to codify Roe vs Wade, to make our criminal justice system fair for all and address climate change. He has the experience to address the misinformation that is poisoning our society.
I urge all Republicans, Independents and Democrats to vote in the Democratic Primary June 7 or at earlier locations for Mike Franken. Mike is my choice and I hope he will be yours.
