Force other solutions besides taxes

Community officials are at it again and now it is my turn to opine. This (local-option sales) tax stinks of corruption just like others. Will we fall for the property tax thing again?
Just think of the revenue a casino would have brought in, but we voted no. They could have turned Westdale into a casino. Just think of the jobs and revenue. Plus we would not have to drive to another town to celebrate our birthdays. Booming, finally on the west side. What if we could have brought a NASCAR track to the community? Hey, they did it in Newton.
Do we lack the insight here to see how we are our own worst enemy? A “yes” vote (Tuesday) not only will hurt our local community, but it will once again prove that as a collective whole we are unable to discern what measures will strengthen our community. We keep voting yes and it never goes away.
Stand up and challenge our entire community to quit the tax gigs and make better decisions in the future. Let's try and focus on the next opportunity and jump on that. Now is the time to make people do their jobs instead of taking the easy road of raising taxes.
