Follow the posted speed limits

Our recent Arkansas visitor who was cited for going 77 mph, apparently in a 55 mph zone, should consider himself fortunate that a member of law enforcement didn't give him the ticket instead of a traffic camera citation as that offense would have resulted in a loss of driving privileges (“‘Big Brother'watching costs C.R. business,” April 10 letter, Jack Hollingsworth Jr.).
Driving a motor vehicle is a “privilege” and not a “right” as motor vehicle operators must pass a driving test and agree to follow the motor vehicle laws to obtain a driver's license.
Speeding is speeding whether a member of law enforcement is present or not. Seems ironic that people think it's OK to ignore our speed limit laws if no one can see them. Traffic cameras have nothing to do with “Big Brother” and everything with following the posted speed limits.
Support law enforcement by not speeding. If people really want the traffic cameras to go away, follow the speed limits.
