Flooding, damage are nation’s true emergencies

It's hard to contain my words any longer. We have states of emergency all over the U.S. There is flooding from the West Coast clear into the Iowa landscape. Farmers have lost their homes, cattle, crops and, some, their lives. Homeowners have lost homesteads, vehicles and employment.
Storms have knocked out utilities to southern areas of our country; homes have been blown down, and lands destroyed by tornadoes.
Iowa still awaits federal moneys granted but not paid for the horrendously destructive flood of 2008. The money was supposed to help erect much needed levees to protect Cedar Rapids homes and businesses.
These are just a minute picture of the emergency needs of this country. Yet the president wants and demands $9 billion or more to erect a fence across the southern border. Now which do you think is an actual emergency?
