Father missed chance for a lesson on the law

In response to John Johnson's letter (“I-380 speeding tickets hurting C.R. merchants,” Jan. 5).
What Johnson has told his daughter is that it's OK to speed. It's either that speeding is OK or it's that he feels his daughter is above the law and not bound by the same laws as the rest of us mere mortals. The speed limit signs are prominently posted and they are the law. Breaking the law is breaking the law no matter where you do it or how you are caught. Even your daughter.
Many local convenience stores and department stores have cameras located in them to get pictures of people who may rob the store as well as helping to keep shoplifting down. If you are opposed to cameras that might catch you speeding, then are you also concerned about being watched at the grocery store? There is no dichotomy. Shop lifting and speeding are both illegal. Or, maybe you never steal so you should be allowed to speed a little?
I guess you think your daughter is special and doesn't have to follow the rules. What a shock the real world has for her.
