Farmers will vote their pocket books

Over 80 percent of farmers voted for the current President. Why? As of today's markets, corn prices are down 80 cents per bushel and soybean prices are down $2.20 from late May highs for fall contracts. For a medium-sized farmer with 500 acres each of corn and soybeans, that farmer's income is now down $146,000.
Where is the outcry from the Iowa Farm Bureau, the Iowa Corn Growers Association, the Iowa Soybean Association and our elected representatives about the tariffs? And this says nothing of those raising cattle and hogs.
In my 30-plus years working with farmers, I found most are apolitical. I assume they will vote their pocket books in 2018 and 2020.
